Splitting the voucher gives us the ability to divide the total value and turn it into multiple vouchers with smaller values. 

Not splitting the voucher - The recipient receives one voucher with a value of £300, where they can choose one retailer. 

Splitting the voucher - The recipient receives multiple vouchers, and they can choose one retailer for each.

For example: 

A recipient needs help paying for a foodshop and paying towards a washing machine. We can split the voucher so that they receive two vouchers, one of which they can choose as a Tesco voucher, and the other for Argos. 

Regardless of how the voucher(s) are split, once the retailer has been selected it cannot be changed and is subject to the retailer's terms and conditions
