Setting up Apple Pay is a straightforward process. Here are the steps you need to follow to set it up on your iPhone:
1. Ensure Your Device is Compatible
Apple Pay is available on iPhone 6 and later, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3 and later, and Apple Watch.
2. Update to the Latest iOS
Make sure your device is running the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.
3. Add a Card to Apple Wallet
On iPhone:
- Open the Wallet app.
- Tap the + button in the upper-right corner.
- Follow the prompts to add a new card.
- You can use your device’s camera to capture your card information or enter it manually.
- Follow the verification steps with your bank or card issuer. This might involve a phone call, text message, or email.
On iPad:
- Go to Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay.
- Tap Add Card.

On Apple Watch:

4. Verify Your Card

Using Apple Pay in Stores:
With Face ID: Double-click the side button, glance at your iPhone to authenticate with Face ID, then hold the top of your iPhone near the contactless reader.
With Touch ID: Rest your finger on Touch ID, then hold the top of your iPhone near the contactless reader.
With Apple Watch: Double-click the side button and hold the display of your Apple Watch near the contactless reader.
Using Apple Pay in Apps and on Websites:
Tap the Apple Pay button during checkout.
Important note: Always check your billing, shipping, and contact information to make sure they're correct.
Confirm the payment using Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
